Blue

I stared at the night sky

until the stars faded and the whole world turned blue.

The color was calm and inviting.

He welcomed me with loving arms and gained my trust.

I bit his bait and wrestled through the storm.

Blue filled my lungs and seeped through my veins.

Pump by pump my heart grew full and glistened hues of blue.

Most of the world, still blue,

all believing they are

drowning, alone, and abandoned

by the sky’s.

Midnight blue takes no offense,

still waking us every morning to beautiful skies and a new day.
